They first met at UFC 142 where Aldo got a first round KO.
Nothing is close to being confirmed, but it's a possibility Aldo vs. Mendes 2 is in the works for August 2nd, at UFC 176.

Mendes is looking for revenge, and also to keep his professional MMA record almost perfect, with only one loss, to Aldo.
Also; #1 Bantamweight contender is looking for a return to the Octagon at UFC 175, but he just doesn't have an opponent yet.
Faber is coming off of a first round TKO loss to Bantamweight Champ Renan Barao.
