Kevin Casey and Robert Drysdale fail post-fight drug tests following UFC 175 and TUF 19 Finale

UFC middleweight and UFC light heavyweight fighter Robert Drysdale both failed post-fight drug tests following their wins at UFC 175 and TUF 19 Finale, respectively.
Kevin Casey, who was recently resigned to the UFC tested positive for drostanolone, which is a steroid. He knocked out Bubba Bush in 61 seconds at UFC 175 in the Fight Pass Prelims. Casey is a TUF 17 alum but lost to Josh Samman at the finale and was released by the UFC. He won three straight fights, including an RFA championship, until he received an offer to return to the promotion. It is hard to tell what the UFC will do with Casey, as this is his second run in the UFC.
On the other hand, Robert Drysdale is in a worse situation as this is his second failed drug test under the UFC banner. Although, he made his UFC debut just earlier this month at TUF 19 Finale. He tested positive for an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio of 12 to 1. He failed a drug test when he was set to fight at UFC 167, for the same thing.

Both fighters will receive temporary suspensions until they face the Nevada State Athletic Commission at the next scheduled hearing. They will receive a fine, a suspension and their fights will be overturned.

What's next for the UFC on FOX 12 main card winners?
The highly anticipated event UFC on FOX 12 has come to a close resulting in some great fights and unexpected results.
In the main event, Robbie Lawler defeated Matt Brown in a unanimous decision, winning 4 of 5 rounds on two judges' scorecards, and 3 of 5 on the other judge's scorecard. Both warriors were expected to put on a great fight, as they did. Back and forth action was all throughout the fight. With the victory, Lawler will now be facing the welterweight champion Johny Hendricks in a rematch. Their first fight was a very close decision for Hendricks, as going into the last round it was tied. Hendricks then secured the final round with a takedown, to become the welterweight champion.
In the co-main event, light heavyweight contender Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson absolutely destroyed Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and TKO'd him in under a minute. Johnson is now considered a threat to the title, currently held by dominant champion Jon Jones, and a very scary man indeed.
Also on the main card, Dennis Bermudez dominated Clay Guida for the first round and the beginning of the second, before he submitted Guida via rear-naked choke.
Josh Thomson vs. Bobby Green started things off, where we saw Green win a split-decision.

Bobby Green made a huge statement tonight when he won a split-decision over Josh Thomson. As Green, who is ranked #13 in lightweight, defeated a Top 5 opponent, he should now be awarded big name fights and considered a contender in the division. This victory was unquestionably his biggest win of his career. Cerrone, who is fresh off a win over Jim Miller, is definitely in title contention. If these two fought, the winner would be very close to a title shot.

Who he should fight next: Ricardo Lamas
Tonight, Dennis Bermudez has transitioned from a featherweight prospect to a legit contender in the division. With an amazing victory over #7 ranked Clay Guida, he definitely deserves to fight a Top 5 opponent. With 3 of 5 top 5 featherweights booked for a fight, one of the only fights that makes sense is against Ricardo Lamas. Lamas, who is coming off of a win over Hacran Dias, is trying to work towards his way to another title shot. He fell prey to champion Jose Aldo last February. With many title shots still to come with Aldo vs. Chad Mendes this fall, and Swanson vs. Edgar this winter, these fighters with a win likely won't be awarded with a title shot, but likely a No. 1 contender bout.

Anthony Johnson made a big statement when he defeated Phil Davis at UFC 172 in April, but made an even larger one when he TKO'd Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in under a minute. He is now considered a legit threat to the title, held by Jon Jones and deserves a fight that will get him either very close to the title, or will get him a fight with Jon Jones. Although Teixeira is coming off of a loss to champion Jon Jones, a win over Johnson would get him back into title contention. If Johnson beats Glover, that should earn him a title shot, as he would be on a 3 fight win streak in the UFC, 2 wins against Top 10 opponents.

Cub Swanson vs. Frankie Edgar set for main event of UFC on FOX 13 in Phoenix, AZ
The UFC will be making its debut in Phoenix on December 13th, 2014 with the fourth FOX card of the year, UFC on FOX 13.
Cub Swanson is set to take on fellow featherweight contender Frankie Edgar in what will most likely be a #1 Contender bout, and the winner will probably fight the champion, the winner of Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes.
Swanson has won 5 straight, most recently defeating Jeremy Stephens in a unanimous decision last June in the five-round main event of UFC Fight Night 44.
Edgar is currently on a 2 fight winning streak, most recently retired (for good) the future Hall of Famer and former champion B.J. Penn. He won via TKO in the third round, dominating the entire fight in the main event of the TUF 19 Finale earlier this month. Penn and Edgar were opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 19. Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes 2 rescheduled to UFC 179 in October

Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes are set to clash for the second time for the featherweight title at UFC 179 on October 25th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
They were originally set to fight in the main event of UFC 176, but Aldo pulled out last minute due to injury resulting in the event being cancelled. That would've taken place on August 2nd.
Dana White announced the rescheduling of the fight at the post-fight press conference of UFC on FOX 12 earlier this evening.
Jose Aldo last defended his title against Ricardo Lamas in the co-main event of UFC 169 last February. Chad Mendes last fought in December of 2013 when be defeated Nik Lentz via decision.
Aldo and Mendes fought at UFC 142 in January of 2012. Aldo defeated Mendes in a first-round TKO. Since then, Mendes has won five straight and is currently the #1 contender in the featherweight division. He has only suffered one professional career loss, which was to Aldo.
No other bouts have been scheduled for this event at this time.

Robbie Lawler and Matt Brown fought to the distance, which was a complete war. Lawler took the unanimous decision.
This past March, Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler fought to a very close decision for the vacant welterweight title. Hendricks took the win with a takedown in the last round.
Their rematch is now confirmed, and is targeted for UFC 182 on January 3rd, 2015. It is unknown if it will be the main event, as another title fight is in the works for the event.

Matt Brown misses weight, not fined; Juliana Lima misses weight, fined
Earlier today the UFC on Fox 12 weigh-ins occurred and 2 fighters missed weight out of the 24 fighters fighting at the event tomorrow.
Matt Brown, who headlines the event against Robbie Lawler missed weight at 172.5 lbs. 1 and a half pounds over weight. He was willing to weigh-in again but the California State Athletic Commission did not allow him to. Therefore, he will not be fined the 20% purse and will still be eligible to win bonuses.
Juliana Lima on the other hand, will be fined 20% of her purse. She weighed in a pound over weigh and was allowed to weigh-in again and did so. She only lost half a pound. Therefore, she will be fined and will not be eligible for bonuses.
UFC on Fox 12 takes place in San Jose, California and is headlined by Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown. The winner will be considered the #1 contender in the welterweight division and will have a chance to dethrone current champion Johny Hendricks and obtain the belt.

UFC 178 set to take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena
UFC 178 is officially set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event was originally set for Toronto, although the big PPV event got moved to Las Vegas and was just awaiting the officially announcement for the venue.
UFC 178 is headlined by the highly anticipated rematch, Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.

Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor set for UFC 178

McGregor is coming off of a first-round TKO win over Diego Brandao in his hometown of Dublin last weekend in the main event. The win has placed him into the Top 10 of the featherweight division. Poirier is currently at #6 in the division.
Poirier is coming off of a second-round TKO win over Akira Corassani last April at TUF: Nations Finale.
UFC 178 is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 26th. It is headlined by the highly anticipated rematch, Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson 2.
Both fighters are moving towards the belt, currently held by Jose Aldo, and a win here would put them into title contention.

Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez set for UFC 181 on December 6th
Pettis announced on 'The MMA Hour' earlier today that he will be defending his belt against #2 ranked Gilbert Melendez at UFC 181. They are currently filming 'The Ultimate Fighter 20' as opposing coaches. 'TUF 20' will determine the first ever women's strawweight champion of the world.
UFC 181 will be taking place on December 6th, 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. No other fights have been officially announced, although Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano is possibly in the works for the event.
Pettis gained the title in September of 2013 when he defeated former champion Benson Henderson. The fight with Melendez will be his first title defense.
Melendez as an opponent has been no secret for a while, although up until now an exact date and location have been.
Pettis is coming off of a knee injury which sidelined him for almost a year, but now he is back to full health and is currently training for his title defense.
This will most likely be officially announced by UFC officials in the coming days.

Roland Delorme to fight at UFC Fight Night 48 in Macau

Delorme told MMAjr on Wednesday, July 16th that he will be fighting on the Macau card. His opponent has yet to be announced.
UFC Fight Night 48 is taking place on August 23rd, 2014 at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China. It is part of the third ever UFC double-header, the other card that day happening in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The card is headlined by a middleweight fight as #8 ranked Michael Bisping takes on Cung Le.
Delorme is coming off a decision loss to Michinori Tanaka at UFC 174 in June and will be looking to break his two-fight losing streak in Macau.

Round 1: We are underway! Nice straight right stuns Martins. Martins lands a nice shot and White is hurt. Martins landing solid shots and Alex White is in big trouble. White goes to the body. White seems to be recovered, targeting the body more. Vicious elbow by Martins. White coming in with him chin straight up and he is getting caught every time. Hard body kick lands for Martins. White comes in again and once again gets smashed by punches. Vicious body shot and a straight right, Martins is landing here. Round 1: Lucas Martins 10/9.
Round 2: White is cut above his eye, he looks like the fresher fighter in between rounds. Nice left lands by White, he does a good job of avoiding the right hand of Lucas Martins. White throws a spinning back fist, no success with it though. Nice combination by White but once again he gets caught. Nice straight left from White, he's landed a couple of them in this round. Martins looks tired, he got cracked with an overhand right. Spinning back fist and a solid right hand! Martins dropped but he is right back up; still doesn't seem to be recovered. Vicious combo by White at the end of the round stuns Martins! Round 2: Alex White 10/9.
Round 3: They swing early but nothing significant lands. Martins lands two solid hooks, White is okay. White throws a flying knee and lands on his back, it was a slip. Round 2: White is cut above his eye, he looks like the fresher fighter in between rounds. Nice left lands by White, he does a good job of avoiding the right hand of Lucas Martins. White throws a spinning back fist, no success with it though. Nice combination by White but once again he gets caught. Nice straight left from White, he's landed a couple of them in this round. Martins looks tired, he got cracked with an overhand right. Spinning back fist and a solid right hand! Martins dropped but he is right back up; still doesn't seem to be recovered. Patrick Cote and Stephen Thomson set to clash at UFC 178 in Las Vegas
Another bout has been announced for the September pay-per-view (PPV) card taking place in Las Vegas. UFC 178 is headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between the two best light heavyweight fighters as of today, Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.
Patrick Cote and Stephen Thomson are set to fight at UFC 178, first announced by The Canadian Press.
Patrick Cote is coming off of a decision win over Kyle Noke last April in Quebec City. This was following a coaching gig opposing Noke on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Nations.
Stephen Thomson is coming off of a first round finish victory against Robert Whittaker at UFC 170 last February.
Both fighters have won their last three fights, looking to extend their win streak to four.

You must predict three things for a bout, depending if you predict a finish or a decision. You will be able to get a total of 3 points per bout, totalling at 36. The person with the most points at the end of the night will be the winner and awarded with the Showeather cap.
Predicting a finish: If you predict a fight ending in a finish, such as a KO or submission, you must predict the winner of the bout, the round it is finished in, and the type of finish.
Predicting a decision: If you predict the fight going the distance, you must predict the winner, the type of decision, and all three judges' scorecards. (eg. 30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

UFC Lightweight James Moontasri on his UFC debut, how he got into MMA, his idols and more.
Earlier today we caught up with UFC Lightweight fighter James Moontasri, we talked about his UFC debut, how he got into Mixed Martial Arts, and more.
MMAjr: Hi, what have you been up to since your UFC debut?
James Moontasri: Nothing much, I've been healing my injuries and spending some time with my loved ones.
MMAjr: Obviously your UFC debut didn't go to plan, so where do you go from here? Is there anybody specific you would like to fight?
James Moontasri: My debut didn't go as planned but I wouldn't change anything. It was such an amazing experience. I went from sitting in a Panda Express eating to 11 days later fighting on the main card live on FOX TV. It was the best experience of my life and I can't wait to get back in their with whoever the UFC pairs me with.
MMAjr: When did you decide you wanted to make a career out of Mixed Martial Arts?
James Moontasri: After the 2008 USA Olympic Tae Kwon Do I knew I didn't want to pursue another 4 years in Tae Kwon Do, that's when I started to transition into Mixed Martial Arts.
MMAjr: When you started training in Mixed Martial Arts, did you truly believe that you would one day fight in the UFC?
James Moontasri: Yes, when I started Mixed Martial Arts, my goal was to make it to the UFC, now my goal is to stay for a very long time.
MMAjr: You faced Joe Ellenberger in your UFC debut, do you think you done anything really well in that fight?
James Moontasri: I think I did a lot of things really well in the fight.
MMAjr: And was there anything you thought you could have improved?
James Moontasri: There was some things I could have changed but I can't change the past, I can only think about the future. The experience is going to make me so much stronger.
MMAjr: Was there any one person that really inspired you to start MMA, and if so, who?
James Moontasri: There wasn't really one person. Seeing MMA fighters with traditional backgrounds like Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva and GSP really inspired me and now that I train with Lyoto daily he is one of my role models.
MMAjr: A good friend of yours, Lyoto Machida is challenging for the belt later tonight, do you think he will do it? And how?
James Moontasri: I am rooting for Lyoto. I know it will be a tough fight but I think Lyoto's speed and timing will play to his advantage.
MMAjr: If you could look back at your career after you retire, what would be the one thing you would like to say you have accomplished?
James Moontasri: If there was one thing I could lie about, I would tell people I gave Lyoto Machida a hard time during sparring.
MMAjr: Who are your biggest idols?
James Moontasri: My biggest idols are my Mother, my Sister and Lyoto Machida.
MMAjr: Children now are growing up watching the likes of Jon Jones and Cain Velasquez compete, but who did you grow up watching?
James Moontasri: I grew up mainly watching Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva and Georges Saint Pierre. And I still do watch them.
MMAjr: Also, who do you think is the best fighter in the world right now?
James Moontasri: I think Jose Aldo is the best Pound for Pound fighter in the world right now.
MMAjr: If you could put yourself up against any active fighter in any weight class, who would it be?
James Moontasri: I'd probably put myself in their against Jon Jones.
MMAjr: And if you could fight any retired fighter from any weight class, who would that be?
James Moontasri: I would fight Art Jimmerson.
MMAjr: If you could be remembered for one thing after you retire, what would it be?
James Moontasri: I would like to be remembered for my passion for Martial Arts and how much I love teaching kids.

TJ Dilliashaw vs. Renan Barao II set for UFC 177 in Sacramento.
Earlier this year, TJ Dillashaw pulled off perhaps one of the most shocking upsets of all time, defeating then Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao via TKO in the fifth round. Dillashaw, who was a 6-to-1 underdog, dominated the fight from the opening bell, eventually stopping the Brazilian and claiming the UFC Bantamweight Championship.
After the fight, it was debated whether Barao deserved an immediate rematch because oh how one sided the fight was, but after weeks of speculation, Dana White confirmed that Barao would get the rematch.
After the UFC 175 weigh in show, UFC Tonight hosted a live show where Dana White announced the rematch.
This fight should be a very interesting one, and even after a dominant display in their first fight, I have a feeling Dillashaw will be the underdog here.

Stephens needs to start moving his head, Cub is landing that jab at will. They clinch against the cage. Nice knee hit the chin of Jeremy Stephens. Big right hand snaps the head of Swanson back, Stephens looks for the take down but Swanson shows excellent take down defense. Nice combo by Swanson! *Fighter missed weight and will have 1-2 hours to make the allocated weight limit, if the fighter does not manage to cut the remaining weight, a certain percentage of his purse will be given to his opponent.
