When we all thought hope was lost, hope has been found.
Former Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre has said that under his conditions, he is still considering a super fight against Former Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva who is currently recovering after a leg break at UFC 168.
GSP is worried that a fight right now would be unfair because of the weight difference. Silva is currently around 230, where GSP is around 190. Georges just wants a fair fight, and will only take a good offer.
He never said what his conditions are, I am thinking possibly them meeting in the middle. Possibly a fight at 180 would be good for both of them. GSP would be fighting 10 pounds heavier and Silva would be dropping 5. Seems pretty fair to me.
I really want to see this fight, and if it does happen it will happen sometime in 2015. Anderson Silva will not be fighting till probably the first half of 2015, which will also give GSP a nice long break, which is what he obviously wants.
I'm not sure if this will be both of their first fights back to The Octagon, possibly they'll want a warm up fight against a top competitor. If that's the case, we may see these 2 former champions fighting in 2016. Then there's always the possibility of the fight never happening.
Anything can happen in the UFC.
So, do you think this fight will happen, even if it's 2 years away? Let me know in the comments below.
