Daniel Cormier fought last Saturday and picked up a submission victory over legend Dan Henderson. Henderson was rag-dolled at UFC 173 in Las Vegas, Nevada for most of the fight.
You could never have been able to tell by Cormier's performance, but he suffered a knee injury about a week before the fight that nearly made him pull out of his fight with Hendo.
'DC' revealed on yesterday's episode of the official UFC news show, UFC Tonight that he injured his Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) only 10 days before his fight.
His win at UFC 173 determined that he would get the next shot at the Light Heavyweight following Alexander Gustafsson's rematch with Champion Jon Jones. Cormier would be sitting out for a while, as Jones vs. Gustafsson 2 is aimed to be the headliner for UFC 177, which takes place on August 30th.

Daniel Cormier's knee will be checked out by doctors soon, and he may even have to go through ACL surgery. If so, he will likely be out for the remainder of 2014, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as he'd likely be sitting out for that time anyways.
