The 44 year old legend Dan Henderson is dropping back to the middleweight division at 185lbs and would like a fight in late 2014.
Henderson is coming off of a submission loss to #2 ranked light heavyweight, Daniel Cormier at UFC 173 last month. This fight took place in the light heavyweight division.
Henderson last had his hand raised last March when he knocked out Mauricio Rua in the third round, even though 'Hendo' was clearly losing the fight, and had almost been finished himself a few times earlier on. This was his first win since 2011, which was also over 'Shogun'. Their first fight is considered one of the greatest fights of all time.
'Hendo' last fought in the UFC middleweight division when he knocked out Michael Bisping at UFC 100.
Henderson has been successful in both the 185-pound and 205-pound division in the past, but not lately in the 205 pound division. He has dropped down to 185 in a result of the weight difference between him and Daniel Cormier in his last fight.
Henderson weighed in under 200 pounds in his last fight, which was at 205. During fight week, he was actually below what he weighed in at; a picture showed him at 196 pounds. The weight cut should not affect him too much, and shouldn't be too difficult for him.
