Weekly Update

If you read the first Weekly Update post you are probably familiar with how this post is going to go. I am basically just going to be posting all of the UFC news from the 29th March to the 5th April.

There is only one change, Nick is the person that came up with this idea but this week it's me, John, who's going to be writing it. Lets get started!

Gina Carano to meet with Dana White about UFC return.
As many of you already may know, there has been a lot of Speculation about Gina Carano returning to MMA to fight current UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey herself said that she would welcome a fight with Gina. As the speculation went on, it started to die down, many people were questioning Carano's willingness to make 135. After a lot of speculation, the hope that Gina Carano would return died down, but then, more news came out. It was announced that Gina Carano and Dana White had scheduled a meeting to talk about the possibility of Carano returning. This was just a rumor until confirmed by UFC President Dana White.

Muhammad Ali tweets about his MMA career
Yes, that's right Fight Fans, Muhammad Ali had a career in MMA too! The boxing legend recently tweeted Dana White with this picture, Dana replied by tweeting "U sir are the original EVERYTHING! Ur the reason combat sports is where it is today greatest tweet ive ever received Im honored". As you can probably tell by this, Dana White is a huge fan of Ali, but we already knew that! The thing that most people are shocked about is that Muhammad Ali actually had a MMA career!

Cormier vs. Hendo winner gets crack at Jones
A fight between Daniel Cormier and Dan Henderson was recently announced, but the news that followed was one that shocked many. It was announced that the winner of Daniel Cormier vs Dan Henderson would get a title shot. There was a lot of surprise over this because Daniel Cormier has only had one fight since moving down from Heavyweight and Dan Henderson is 1-3 in his last four. Henderson was scheduled to face Jones at UFC 151 but the fight was cancelled due to a knee injury that Dan Henderson sustained, because the UFC could not find a suitable replacement, the whole event was cancelled.

Recently scheduled fights
More fights have been scheduled by the UFC, not all of them have dates yet but they have been confirmed.

First off, Ross Pearson is set to return from Injury and face Diego Sanchez on the UFC's event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Next is a Middleweight fight between Mark Munoz and Gegard Mousasi, this fight is set to headline the card in Berlin, Germany.

Another fight scheduled for Germany, and for the Co-Main Event is another middleweight fight between CB Dolloway and Francis Carmont.

Also, Rory MacDonald vs. Tyron Woodley is reportedly in the works for UFC 174.

So, that's all for now Fight Fans, I hope you enjoyed your first dose of Weekly Update, if you think we could improve this post, please feel free to comment.

-John.
