UFC Fight Night Macao: Bisping vs. Le

Shortly after Bruce Lee makes his EA UFC debut, the UFC will be returning to China for UFC Fight Night Macao on August 23rd. Strategic timing by the UFC or nah?

Middleweight Michael Bisping (24-6) faces Cung Le (9-2) as the headline bout for Fight Night.

Michael Bisping was last seen in Quebec, when Tim Kennedy put America on his back and Bisping on his the entire fight. Bisping lost the TUF Nations Finale main event to Kennedy by unanimous decision. "The Count" desperately needs a win over Le or his hopes for the ever-elusive title will come crashing down.

Cung Le, former Strikeforce middleweight champion, returns to both the Octagon and Cotai Arena in Macao since his last fight nearly two years ago. Le is hoping for similar results as his last performance resulted in a "Knockout of the Night" victory over Rich Franklin. Le was most recently seen as a coach on "The Ultimate Fighter: China".

In addition to Bisping vs. Lee, the UFC announced welterweight Hector Lombard (34-4-1) versus Dong Hyun Kim (19-2-1) as the co-main event.

Since dropping down from middleweight to welterweight, Lombard has notched back-to-back victories over Nate Marquardt and Jake Shields. Recently, Lombard has started a social media campaign to fight
Matt Brown, a top-10 welterweight contender, via Twitter.

Despite Lombard's pleas to fight Brown, the UFC decided to put both on different paths. Lombard will face Dong Hyun Kim and Brown will face Robbie Lawler for the chance at Johny Hendricks and the UFC welterweight title.

Dong Hyun Kim is currently riding a 4-fight win streak and back-to-back performance bonuses over Erick Silva and John Hathaway. Kim, ranked #9 in the welterweight division will definitely give Lombard a fight. Whoever wins this fight will definitely start to make noise in the ultra-competitive welterweight division.
