Jones vs. Gustafsson II.
The UFC, and Jon Jones, announced Thursday evening (June 5th) that Jon Jones has indeed signed his bout contact against Alexander Gustafsson, the same contract many believed Jones was ducking. Jones had previously stated that he wanted to fight Daniel Cormier instead of "The Mauler". It is his career, not ours.
"There was never an issue with a contract. I
was traveling and finally got to Vegas and got to talk with Dana and Lorenzo. We
talked and September 27th, I'll be fighting Gustafsson," Jones said. "I
think Cormier is the tougher fighter, but the fans want to see me fight
Gustafsson. There was never an issue with taking the Gustafsson fight. "
Jones did clarify that the issue was with his brother's wedding being so close to the original fight proposed to Jones.
"The issue was that my brother is getting married in July and I would have preferred a later date. I didn't want to go this early and I would have preferred to go later in October or November. It is what it is. We have a date now, September 27th. This was a personal decision for me. I will be at my brother's wedding and have a proper training camp." Jones said.

Jones (20-1) recently made light work of Glover Teixeira in Charm City Baltimore, Maryland in a 5-round unanimous decision. Gustafsson (16-2) is also coming off a victory, a second round TKO that featured the Swede steamrolling over Jimi Manuwa. Jones and Gustafsson originally faced off at UFC 165 in September of 2013. In a razor-sharp decision, Jones walked out the victor, a fight most say was Jones' toughest fight so far.

Will Jones vs. Gustafsson II prove to be as action-packed as their first
fight? Can “The Mauler” do what many men have failed to do before him or
will he be the first to stop Jon Jones’ invincible run as UFC Light Heavyweight
Champion? Or will Jones defeat Gustafsson once again, and start preparing for hungry
predator named Daniel Cormier?
